H-Town!

A few weeks ago, Chad and I took a trip down to Houston, Texas where Chad served his mission.  It was so neat to see the areas he served in, and to meet people he baptized and visit with members of the wards he served in.  Before we left, Chad kept warning be about how hot and humid it is in Houston.  Well, Houston is currently in the second biggest drought they have had since some in year in the 1800's, and it has only rained a few times throughout the whole summer.  Of course, when we decide to go there, it rains TWICE!  It was the coolest the weather had been in months.  So needless to say, I didn't get a taste of the hot, sweaty, humid, miserable weather.  Ironically, it felt just like Utah!  Some of the highlights of the trip were...

Eating good ole' Southern BBQ!  Chad likes to call it "Soul food."  Apparently, there are two kinds of BBQ.  "Soul Food" BBQ is the kind you find at the family owned hole in the wall restaurants.  Then there is the "Grocery Story" BBQ, which is my personal favorite.   

Rudy's BBQ would be considered "Grocery Store" BBQ, which I guess isn't real BBQ.  Real or not, I think is the BEST BBQ out there.  When I lived in Dallas, we went there all of the time.  I was tickled pink when I saw a sign for one, because I didn't think they had them in Houston.  Yay!!

We also went to Galveston beach and Schlittbahnn, a huge German themed water park.

We went to church in a ward that Chad served in for 10 months!  The members there LOVED Chad!  It was fun to hear stories and put names to faces of people Chad always talks about.  

We made our way up north to see the Houston Temple.  Absolutley beautiful, isn't it?

And I found my dream house in my dream neighborhood.  A Southern Plantation home with our backyard as a lake? Talked me into it... ;)

College Grad!

After attending three different colleges, and changing my major three different times, I finally graduated!  I have my bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Nutrition.  Boy, it sure feels good to be finished!

Graduation would not be complete without the classic picture of me throwing my cap into the air...

Well, I threw my cap a little too high, and it landed on top of the Huntsman Building.  Oops!  At least now I can say that I left my mark at the U. :)

I am so grateful for my parents, and my awesome husband, for all of their support!  I couldn't have done it without them.  And let me tell you, life without school/homework is the bomb.com!!!!  It is so nice to be able to spend my time doing whatever I please, and not having to worry about homework and studying for tests.  Life is great!! :)

Looking forward to days with no homework... for. the. rest. of. my. life, joining a book club and reading books I actually enjoy (no more textbooks), lots of craft making, cooking, and exercising with all of my free time!

Chad and I are going to Cancun for a late honeymoon/graduation present a couple days after I graduate.  I can't wait to get out of this crazy Utah weather and see some sunshine!!  My sister Ashley and her husband Kyle are coming with us too!  I am stoked to have absolutely nothing to do except for soaking up sun rays at the beach all day, drinking as many virgin pina coladas as I want, sleeping as much as I want, and being with my husband for six WHOLE days straight! 

But between now and then... I have A LOT to do!!! Yikes!

Our wedding day was absolutley perfect!  After months of planning, I was anxious to see how it was going to turn out with everything put together and to my surprise it turned out BETTER than I imagined.  The whole day was amazing!!  The temple ceremony was something I will never forget.  Chad's family planned such a great luncheon at the Lion House and the food was absolutley scrumpious. :)  The reception at Noah's was so stinkin fun!  It was such a blast being able to visit with everyone.  Best of all, I got to be sealed to my best friend for time and all eternity.  I am so excited to spend forever with that stud!  I am one lucky gal!
